Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Grimmia sessitana has small, yellowish-green flowers, which are borne on short, thin stalks. The seeds are small, black and round. The seedlings are small and have a single, thin, green leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Grimmia sessitana can be propagated by division of the tufts in spring or autumn. The tufts can be divided into smaller clumps and planted in a moist, well-drained soil. The soil should be kept moist during the growing season and should be allowed to dry out slightly in the winter. Fertilizer should be applied in the spring and summer. The plant can also be propagated from spores.
