Description
Stachys appalachiana (also called Appalachian hedge-nettle, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Lamiaceae family. It is native to Costa Rica and Panama. It is found in wet forests, in shady areas, and on the banks of rivers and streams.

Stachys appalachiana is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a hedge plant. It is also used for erosion control and as a windbreak.
