Description

Stachys aurea (also called Betony, Wood Betony, Bishop's Wort, and Hedge Wort, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia. It grows in dry meadows, grasslands, and open woodlands. It has a square stem and opposite, ovate-lanceolate leaves with toothed margins. The flowers are small and pink-purple in color.
