Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Sphagnum tosaense is a small, white, star-shaped flower with five petals. The seed is a small, black, oval-shaped seed. The seedlings are small, green, and have a single stem with a few leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Sphagnum tosaense can be propagated by division of the clumps or by spore sowing. Cultivation is best done in moist, acidic, nutrient-poor soils in partial shade. It is not tolerant of drought or waterlogging.
