Description
Psychotria serpens (also called Serpent Psychotria, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree of the Rubiaceae family. It is native to the tropical regions of South America, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It grows in moist forests, often near streams, and can reach heights of up to 10 meters.

The flowers of Psychotria serpens are small, white and tubular. The seeds are small, black and oval-shaped. The seedlings are slender and have long, narrow leaves.
