Description
Psychotria johnsii (also called Johns' Psychotria, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 10 m tall. It is native to tropical regions of the Americas, from Mexico to Argentina, and is found in moist forests and along riverbanks. Its leaves are opposite, elliptic to oblong, 6–12 cm long, and 3–6 cm wide.

The flower of Psychotria johnsii is a small white or yellowish-white flower with five petals. The seed is a small, black, oval-shaped seed. The seedling is a small, upright plant with dark green leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
