Description
Psychotria altiplanensis (also called Altiplano Wild Coffee, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree up to 5 m tall, native to the Himalayas and the mountains of Central Asia, growing in open forests and scrub at elevations of 2,000–3,500 m. It has ovate-lanceolate leaves, white flowers, and red fruits.

Psychotria altiplanensis is used in traditional medicine for treating fever, malaria, and other illnesses. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens.
Cultivation and Propagation
Psychotria altiplanensis can be propagated by seed or cuttings. For seed propagation, sow the seeds in a well-draining potting mix and keep the soil moist. For cuttings, take a 4-6 inch stem cutting and dip it in rooting hormone before planting it in a potting mix. Keep the soil moist and in a warm, bright location. The plant can be transplanted outdoors once it is established.
