Description

Puccinellia hispanica (also called Spanish alkaligrass, among many other common names) is an annual grass species native to the Arctic and Subarctic regions. It is a low-growing plant with short, stiff stems and narrow leaves. It is found in wet meadows, wet tundra, and other moist habitats.

Puccinellia hispanica is used as a forage crop for grazing animals, as well as a soil stabilizer and erosion control. It is also used as a cover crop and as a source of nectar for bees.
