Description

Paspalum amphicarpum (also called Amphicarpic paspalum, among many other common names) is a species of grass native to South America. It is a perennial grass that grows in tufts and can reach heights of up to 1m. It is found in tropical and subtropical regions, and grows in moist, low-lying areas, such as swamps, marshes, and wet meadows.

Uses & Benefits

Paspalum amphicarpum is used as a forage grass and as a soil stabilizer. It is also used in erosion control and as a turf grass.

Paspalum amphicarpum has small, yellow flowers with five petals and yellow anthers. The seeds are small, black and round. The seedlings have opposite, linear leaves.
