Description
Mielichhoferia badhwarii (also called Mielichhoferiopsis badhwarii, among many other common names) is a species of moss found in the Americas, Europe, and Africa. It has a yellow-green color and grows in dense tufts. It is typically found in moist, shady places such as forests, woodlands, and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Mielichhoferia badhwarii has white flowers with yellow centers, and small, black seeds. The seedlings are small and have a tuft of white hairs at the base of the stem.
Cultivation and Propagation
Mielichhoferia badhwarii can be propagated by division or seed. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun. It can tolerate some shade, but will not flower as well. It should be watered regularly and fertilized in the spring. Deadheading spent flowers will encourage more blooms.
