Leucobryum tahitense (also called Tahitian Moss, among many other common names) is a species of moss native to the Americas, Europe, and Asia. It is a small, tufted moss with white or grayish-white shoots. It grows in moist, shady habitats, such as woodlands, meadows, and along streams.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Leucobryum tahitense has small, white flowers that bloom in the summer. Its seeds are small, black and round. The seedlings are small and light green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Leucobryum tahitense can be propagated by division or by sowing spores. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and partial shade. It is best grown in a humus-rich, acidic soil.
