Cultivation and Propagation

Hymenophyllum fragile can be propagated by spores, which are best sown as soon as they are ripe on the surface of a sterile compost. Cover the pot with a plastic bag to maintain high humidity and keep in a warm shaded position. The compost should be kept moist but not wet and should not be allowed to dry out. Germination usually takes place within 3-6 months at 20°C.
