Description
Scleria kerrii (also called Kerri's Sawgrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Central and South America. It grows in wet areas, such as marshes, swamps, and wet meadows, and has long, narrow leaves and small, brown flowers.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Scleria kerrii is small, with three white petals and three yellow stamens. The seed is a small, black, oval-shaped nut. The seedlings are small and green, with two to three pairs of leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Scleria kerrii is a perennial plant that is best grown in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soils in part shade. Propagation is by division of the rhizomes or by seed.
