Lobelia xalapensis (also called Xalapa Lobelia, among many other common names) is an annual herb in the bellflower family. It is native to the southeastern United States, where it is found in the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. It grows in moist, sandy soils in open woods, meadows, and roadsides.
