Diplazium caudatum (also called Tailed Shield Fern, among many other common names) is a species of fern native to the eastern United States, Mexico, and Central America. It is an evergreen, perennial fern with creeping rhizomes and fronds that are divided into two parts. It grows in moist, shady areas and is often found in woodlands and along streams.
