Pimpinella atropurpurea (also called Purple Pimpinella, among many other common names) is an annual herb native to Europe and Asia. It has a slender stem with a few branches and grows to a height of about 0.5 m. It has ovate leaves with serrated margins and small purple flowers. It grows in grasslands, meadows and disturbed areas.
