Swintonia acuta (also called Sharp-tipped Swintonia, among many other common names) is a terrestrial bromeliad with a rosette of stiff, spiny, arching leaves. It is native to Mexico and Guatemala and usually grows in dry forests and scrubland.

Swintonia acuta is a shrub native to Southeast Asia. It can be propagated by cuttings or by seed. To propagate by cuttings, take a 4-6 inch cutting from the tip of a healthy stem and place it in a well-draining potting mix. To propagate by seed, sow the seeds in a well-draining soil mix and keep the soil moist. Place the pot in a warm, bright location and keep the temperature between 65-75°F (18-24°C).
