Description
Alternanthera arequipensis (also called Arequipa Alternanthera, Arequipa Joyweed, and Arequipa Alternanthera Joyweed, among many other common names) is a low-growing, mat-forming perennial plant with small, white flowers. It is native to the Arequipa region of Peru, and is found in moist, shady areas.

The flowers of Alternanthera arequipensis are small and white, and arranged in dense, terminal spikes. The seeds are small, black, and oval-shaped. The seedlings are slender and have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Alternanthera arequipensis can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers a warm, humid environment with bright, indirect light. The soil should be well-draining and should be kept moist. Fertilize the plant every two weeks during the growing season.
