We provide high-quality Rwanda cottonseed oil to the local and export markets. We source the fresh raw cottonseed for processing cottonseed oil from family growers in the country.

Rwanda cottonseed oil is the by-product of cotton. Though Rwanda does not produce much of the crop domestically, it relies on a few growers whereas the rest is imported. The first growing timeline of the crop in the country was in 1930 to satiate commercial needs. Later the crop became unsustainable, unlike neighboring Burundi where cotton is lush.

We harvest cottonseed as part of the fiber harvest itself. We lift the bolls holding the seeds and fibers with sickles so that we can cut the stalks without the bolls. We then take the harvest to the ginnery for seed and fiber separation. The fibers disappear beneath the rollers at the ginnery while the seeds remain behind as cast away.

We then process Rwanda cottonseed oil by initially crushing the seeds. The rollers crush the seeds into similar sizes. The machines retain dimensions of 0.5 millimeters per seed to use the same calibration adjustment during processing. Our experienced factory team doubles on a manual carving of the seeds to make them similar-sized. The result is 100% recovery of oil.

The next stage of processing Rwanda cottonseed oil is that of cooking them. We roast them at 95 or 100 degrees Celsius on pans. The 60-minute routine brings internal water in the seeds to lower than 14 percent.

We go on to cold press Rwanda cottonseed oil from the baked seeds. The process involves the placement of the particles onto a rotating screw that half-pounds and half-squeezes the seeds to exude oil. The resulting thick liquid passes onto a beaker and then onto the filter. The filtration system removes 1 percent of the remaining foreign materials. One of these is gossypol which is toxic but important for giving the plant immunity during its growing stages. Each seed yields the optimal 15 to 25 percent worth of oil out of its total dry matter.

We pack Rwanda cottonseed oil in PET bottles, jerry cans, and drums. The PET bottles carry capacity of 1 to 15 liters. The unit size of jerry cans is usually between 3 and 5 liters.  We keep the cargo away from the light to reduce oxidation effect and discoloration even during packing. As an extra precaution, all the bottles keep in polyethylene-lined pouches that lie in each carton. We finalize the packing by attaching self-adhesive labels of the name of the oil, the net weight, the packing date, the best-by date, the 100 percent ingredients and the country of origin.

We store Rwanda cottonseed oil in airtight containers throughout the packing and handling period. We keep a temperature range of 5 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius.

We transport the cargo of Rwanda cottonseed oil to the airport in Kigali at constant temperatures that do not go above or below 14 degrees Celsius. The essence for this control is to keep the melting of the oil inside the bottle to less than 1 percent and thus retain the volume. Soon after delivery at the cargo village via our refrigerated trucks, the dispatch reaches you by air in the next 24 to 48 hours.

We are therefore your go-to for everything Rwanda cottonseed oil. No matter your preferred size, we keep the quantity high all the time courtesy of our many farmers. We also ensure that you obtain the oil free of the chemical residue by sourcing the raw materials from only Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)-certified parts of the country. Our quality at the exit point is verified by the Rwanda Standards Board (RSB) which gives us a certificate. This means that we carry out stringent phytosanitary processing and follow hygienic handling of the produce. We keep the prices quite low to meet your specific budgetary allocation.
