Ethiopia avocado oil comes from the rich fields of the southwest of the country. Fuerte, Hass and other Guatemalan varieties grow in areas such as Gera, Tepi and Bebeka in the volcanic Rift Valley in the southwestern parts of Ethiopia. The fruit is a nutritious source of vitamins and essential fat. Its oil is suitable for enhancing skin conditions.

The flesh of the fruit can have up to 30 percent content of the nutritious oil. The seed itself can have as minimal as 2 percent or below of oil and thus rarely goes into the mix. The skin usually has less than 7 percent of the vital oil content. The high oleic acid content of the fruit produces healthy fat for controlling heart conditions. It also has some abilities over arthritis, gum disease and improves the metabolism of nutrients in the body.

The main uses of avocado oil are for skin freshening. It features in a range of natural cosmetics. The absorption rate of the oil into the skin is what buys it a place as one of the most important skin care products.

We harvest Ethiopia avocado fruits in a phytosanitary manner. Each of our workers picks each unripe fruit from hass and fuerte fields using a tall bamboo pole with an attached basket for picking each fruit. The avocados then go into a packing shed before further processing.

We process avocado oil through solvent extraction by first pre-drying the fruits. This ensures the removal of as high as 65 percent of the moisture content in the succulent part of the fruit. We first of all remove the pit and the skin before grinding the pulp into mash. The next step is warm air drying of the mash after a little addition of hexane solvent. The final part is that of filtering the brownish oil content that is then de-acidified to extract any clinging fatty acids. Around 95 percent total yield rate comes through the organic solvent extraction process.

We also cold-press avocado oil to maintain an extra virgin essential oil quality. The cold pressing process involves first pre-drying Ethiopia avocados. This is followed by grinding the pulp.We first pass the paste into a malaxing container where we heat it for up to 60 minutes at temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius. The third step is that of placing the ground content onto a hydraulic container. The mash then undergoes heating. The high temperatures help to separate oil from water content. We then collect the crude oil from the receptacle of the distiller for packaging. The oil consists of no other additive and thus passes as extra virgin.

We store Ethiopia avocado oil under temperatures of less than 5 degrees Celsius. We store the packages under custom bottles and white or brown labeled jerry cans of 500 ml to 1 liter. These are usually transparent to showcase the clear brown liquid inside.

We transport the bottles containing the Ethiopia avocado oil to the airport in Addis Ababa using custom refrigerated vehicles. You can expect the shipment to reach your destination on the same day or one two two days of dispatch.

Thus, if you are looking for the most extra virgin oil from the East African region, look no further than Ethiopia extra virgin avocado oil, which we process and pack. We source our raw materials in Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP)-certified fuerte and hass growing areas of the country. Our quantity reflects your specific needs while our prices are custom to suit your budget. For more information and to make an order, contact us today!
