Day-neutral strawberry plant –they have three peak periods of fruiting. Usually, these begin as early as June, mid-July and late August, hence provides an excellent spread outcrop.

The berries meant for export are stored in specialized warehouses in Addis Ababa airport to be transported within 24hours. Berries are placed in small cases weighing 250 grams, which are then packed in small-sized packs.
Grading has three categories; grade one fruits, which are nine strawberries in every pack, grade two strawberries range between 15-25 strawberries per punnet, and the third grade contains 28-32 strawberries per pack.
The fruits are pre-cooled in conditions slightly above 5 degrees Celsius, which helps the fruits from shrinking and losing their water content.
