Uganda hagenia (Hagenia abyssinica) is a medicinal flowering plant that thrives in the equatorial forests of the county, especially in the west as African redwood trees. It has the Swahili name of mlozilozi. Its flowers grow into long sizes of 30 to 60 centimeters in orange or pink and other related hazy colors.  It is a hot and wet climate tree that does well under precipitation levels of at least 1000 millimeters of rain yearly and at altitudes of over 2000 meters above sea level.

The original home of the hagenia species was the East African highlands of Ethiopia. This means that the tree is also native to Uganda which is united to Ethiopia by the Great Rift Valley.
