Portugal: Contracts with Euroteste and Consulai, within the framework of the Price Observatory, to obtain information on consumer prices, as well as the methodology of analysis of the value chain, was announced today.
“The Ministry of Agriculture and Food, through the Office of Planning, Policies and General Administration of the Ministry of Agriculture (GPP), signed the contracts that will allow the obtaining of consumer price information in Portugal and the methodology of analysis of the value chain of the ranks,” it announced in a statement.
The contracts were signed with Euroteste – Marketing and Opinion, for the purchase of information services and monitoring of prices paid by consumers, which include the weekly collection, between 2023 and 2024, and the history of market information for the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, and with Consulai – Agro-Industrial Consulting for the acquisition of a methodology of analysis of the ranks, which allows the identification of critical points.
Quoted in the same statement, the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Maria do Céu Antunes, defended that this procedure reinforces “the mechanisms of transparency and contributes to an effective monitoring of prices, from the first sale to the effective price paid by the consumer.”
The holder of the Agriculture portfolio also said that “enhancing the knowledge and monitoring of the entire agri-food chain is fundamental for the good decision in the formulation of public policies.”
The “National is Sustainable” Price Observatory aims to monitor costs and prices along the agri-food supply chain.
