Qualea elegans (also called red-wood, red-wood tree, or red-wood vine, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Vochysiaceae. It is native to tropical Africa, from Nigeria east to Uganda and south to Angola. It grows in lowland and montane rainforests, and is a large tree, reaching up to 30 m tall.
