Description
Pilea pennellii (also called Clearweed, among many other common names) is an annual, herbaceous plant. It is native to tropical regions of South America, and is found in moist, shady habitats. It has small, round, green leaves with a reddish-brown underside, and small, white flowers.
Cultivation and Propagation
Pilea pennellii can be propagated by stem cuttings or division. It prefers a well-draining potting mix of equal parts peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite. It should be kept in bright, indirect light and should be kept moist but not soggy. Fertilize monthly during the growing season.
