Description
Elatostema maquilingense (also called Maquiling Elatostema, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the Philippines. It grows in moist, shady habitats, such as forests, and has large, ovate leaves with long petioles and long, narrow sepals.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Elatostema maquilingense has white flowers with yellow centers and small, black seeds. The seedlings are small and have a single, long, slender leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Elatostema maquilingense can be propagated by seed or cuttings. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures as low as -5°C (23°F).
