Description
Elatostema manhaoense (also called Manhao Elatostema, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to China, Taiwan, and Vietnam. It grows in moist, shady habitats, such as forests, and has large, ovate leaves with long petioles and long, narrow sepals.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Elatostema manhaoense has white flowers with yellow centers and small, black seeds. The seedlings are small and have a single, long, slender leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Elatostema manhaoense can be propagated by seed or cuttings. It prefers moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures as low as -5°C (23°F).

Elatostema manhaoense can be found in the tropical rainforest of Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia.
