Description
Elatostema insulare (also called Island Elatostema, among many other common names) is an evergreen perennial herb. It is native to China, Taiwan, and Vietnam, and grows in moist forests, thickets, and shady places. It has ovate-lanceolate leaves with serrated margins, and the flowers are white or pink.

Elatostema insulare has small, white flowers that are borne in small clusters. The seeds are small, black and rounded. The seedlings are small and have a single, oval-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Elatostema insulare is a perennial herb native to the Pacific Islands. It is easily propagated by division in spring or autumn. Plant the divisions in well-draining soil in a sunny spot. Water regularly during the growing season and fertilize with a balanced fertilizer. The plant is winter hardy and can be left in the ground in cold climates.
