Description
Thuidium alvarezianum (also called Alvarez's Thuidium, among many other common names) is a species of moss native to North America, Europe, and Asia. It is a small, yellow-green moss that grows in dense tufts in moist, shady areas, such as woodlands and meadows.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The Thuidium alvarezianum has small, white flowers and small, black seeds. The seedlings are small, dark green and have a single, upright stem.
Cultivation and Propagation
Thuidium alvarezianum can be propagated by division or by spores. It is best cultivated in a moist, shady environment with plenty of organic matter. The soil should be kept moist but not waterlogged. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer every few months.
