Tamarix austromongolica (also called Austro-Mongolian Tamarisk, and Austro-Mongolian Athel Tamarisk, among many other common names) is a species of shrub or small tree in the Tamaricaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean region, southern Europe, and parts of Asia. It typically grows in salty or alkaline soils, and is often found in coastal areas, salt marshes, and riverbanks.
