Description
Symplocos fuscata (also called Brown Symplocos, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree, up to 8 m tall, with a trunk up to 30 cm in diameter. It is native to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, and is found in humid montane forests at elevations of 1000-3000 m. It is a shade tolerant species.

Cultivation and propagation of Symplocos fuscata: Propagation is best done by seed, which should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist. Cuttings can also be taken in spring or summer, and should be rooted in a moist soil mix. The plant can be grown in full sun or partial shade.
