Description
Heuchera brevistaminea (also called short-stamen alumroot, short-stamen heuchera, and short-stamen coral bells, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Saxifragaceae. It is native to western North America, where it is found in the western United States, British Columbia, and Alberta. It grows in coniferous forests, chaparral, and other mountain habitats.
Cultivation and Propagation
Heuchera brevistaminea is a perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Hardiness Zones 5 to 8. It prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is done by division in the spring or by seed. Seeds should be sown in the fall or spring in a cold frame.
