Description
Pouteria anteridata (also called Caimito, among many other common names) is a species of flowering tree in the Sapotaceae family. It is native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela, and is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests. It grows up to 25 m tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 50 cm.

Cultivation and Propagation
Pouteria anteridata can be propagated by division or by seed. Division is best done in the spring or early summer. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained medium and kept moist until germination. The seedlings should be potted up when they are large enough to handle and grown on in a warm, humid environment.
