Randia costata (also called Ribbed Indigo Berry, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 10 meters tall. It is native to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, tropical and subtropical moist montane forests, and heavily degraded former forest.
