Description
Notopleura scarlatina (also called Scarlet Notopleura, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree, usually up to 6 m tall, with a dense, rounded crown. It is native to the tropical Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela, where it grows in wet montane forests and cloud forests at elevations of 1000-3000 m.
Cultivation and Propagation
Notopleura scarlatina can be propagated by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained, sandy soil mix and kept moist. Division can be done in spring or autumn. Divide the clumps and replant in a well-drained soil.
