Machaonia subinermis (also called Subinermis machaonia, among many other common names) is a shrub species in the family Rubiaceae. It is native to Central and South America, and is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests. It grows up to 3 meters in height, with a trunk diameter of up to 10 centimeters. The leaves are simple, opposite, and have a length of 5 to 10 centimeters.
