Description
Lasianthus linearifolius (also called Linear-Leaved Lasianthus, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree that grows up to 10 meters tall. It is native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and is found in the understory of tropical forests.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Lasianthus linearifolius has small, white flowers with five petals and a yellow center. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings are thin and have small, linear leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Lasianthus linearifolius is a small tree native to the Caribbean and Central and South America. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. Propagation is usually done by seed, but cuttings can also be used. Seeds should be sown in a warm, moist environment and kept at a temperature of 24-27°C. Cuttings should be taken from young, healthy stems and placed in a moist, well-drained medium.
