Description
Hoffmannia tenuis (also called 'Hoffmannia', 'Hoffmannia tenuis' and 'Hoffmannia tenuis var. tenuis', among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree native to Central and South America. It grows up to 10 meters tall and has simple, alternate leaves. It is found in wet tropical forests, from sea level to 1000 meters in elevation.
Cultivation and Propagation
Hoffmannia tenuis is propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained, sandy soil mix and kept moist. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood and rooted in a sandy soil mix. The plant prefers full sun and moderate water.
