Description
Gardenia sericea (also called 'Cape jasmine', among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree with glossy, dark green leaves and fragrant, white flowers. It is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and is found in open woodlands, thickets, and along roadsides.

The Gardenia sericea flower is white and fragrant, with a yellow center. The seed is small and round, and the seedlings are small and green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Gardenia sericea is a small evergreen shrub, growing up to 2 m (6.6 ft) tall. It is best grown in well-drained, acidic soil in full sun to partial shade. Propagation is usually done by cuttings or seeds, although the latter is not always reliable.
