Description
Chomelia ramiae (also called Velvetleaf, among many other common names) is a species of shrub native to the southeastern United States. It is a small, woody, perennial shrub that grows up to 6 feet tall with a diameter of 1-2 inches. It is found in wet, sandy soils in open forests, swamps, and along streams and rivers.
Cultivation and Propagation
Chomelia ramiae is a perennial shrub that grows best in full sun and well-drained soil. It can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer in a warm, sunny spot. Cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a pot of moist, well-drained soil.
