Description
Bertiera angustifolia (also called Narrow-Leaved Bertiera, among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. It is found in moist montane forests, often near streams, at elevations of 1000-3000 meters.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Bertiera angustifolia is a white to yellowish-green color, and the petals are fused together. The seed is small, round and black in color. The seedlings are slender and have two leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Bertiera angustifolia is an evergreen shrub that can be grown in a container or in the ground. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It should be watered regularly, but allowed to dry out between waterings. Propagate by seed or cuttings.
