Description
Asperula tetraphylla (also called Four-leaved Asperula, among many other common names) is a species of shrub found in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It is a small shrub with dark green leaves and white flowers. The flowers produce small, red berries which contain the coffee beans. It is native to Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and is found in moist, shady forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Asperula tetraphylla is a low-growing, evergreen perennial that prefers full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is best done through division of the clumps or by seed.
