Sorbus insignis (also called Chinese Whitebeam, among many other common names) is a deciduous tree native to China and Japan. It has a rounded crown and grey-brown bark. Its leaves are ovate to oblong-lanceolate, hairless, and toothed. Its flowers are white and its fruits are red. It grows in woodlands and hedgerows.
