Description

Sorbus gorodkovii (also called Gorodkov's Rowan, among many other common names) is a deciduous tree native to the Caucasus Mountains in Russia and Georgia. It grows in mountain meadows and rocky slopes, reaching heights of up to 10 meters. Its flowers are white, and its leaves are oval-shaped and serrated.

Sorbus gorodkovii is used as an ornamental plant in gardens, as a medicinal plant for treating skin diseases, wounds and inflammations, and as a bee plant.

Flower, Seeds and Seedlings

The flowers of Sorbus gorodkovii are small, white and five-petalled, with a diameter of 1.5–2 cm. The fruits are small, round, and yellow-orange in colour. The seedlings are small and slender, with long, thin leaves.
