Description
Rubus miser (also called Dwarf Bramble, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the rose family, native to Europe, North Africa, and western Asia. It is a low-growing, deciduous shrub with small, white flowers and red fruits. It typically grows in hedgerows, woodland edges, and grasslands.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flowers of Rubus miser are white to pink in colour, with five petals. The seed is small, round and black in colour. The seedlings are small and have a single pair of cotyledons.
Cultivation and Propagation
Rubus miser is a perennial shrub that can be propagated by seed or by cuttings. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and full sun to partial shade. It is tolerant of a wide range of soil pH levels and can tolerate some drought. Pruning is not necessary, but can be done to control size and shape.
