Description
Potentilla sphenophylla (also called 'Wedge-leaf Cinquefoil', among many other common names) is a species of Potentilla native to western North America from British Columbia to California. It is a shrub growing to 1–2 m tall, with pinnate leaves with 3-7 leaflets. The flowers are pink, 1–2 cm diameter, with five petals. It grows in dry, open woods and meadows.

The flowers of Potentilla sphenophylla are yellow, and the seeds are small and black. The seedlings have a single, oval-shaped cotyledon and two small, pointed leaves.
