Malus platycarpa (also called 'Flat-fruited Crabapple', among many other common names) is a deciduous tree native to the western United States and Canada. It has a rounded crown and grows to a height of 8–10 m. Its leaves are ovate and serrated, and its flowers are white and fragrant. It is found in open woodlands, along streams, and in disturbed areas.
