Description

Lachemilla sandiensis (also called Sand's alchemilla, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to the mountains of Central Asia. It has a rosette of basal leaves with long petioles and small, yellow-green flowers. It grows in dry, rocky habitats, such as alpine meadows and scree slopes.

Cultivation and Propagation

Lachemilla sandiensis can be propagated by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in spring in a cold frame. When they are large enough to handle, prick the seedlings out into individual pots and plant them out in the summer. Cuttings of half-ripe wood, 5 - 8cm with a heel, July/August in a frame. Softwood cuttings in spring in a frame. Layering in late summer. Division of suckers in the dormant season.
