Description

Ziziphus oxyphylla (also called Oxyphyllous Jujube, among many other common names) is a shrub or small tree with a rounded crown and grey-brown bark. It is native to the south-western Cape in South Africa, and is found in rocky outcrops, sandy flats, and in fynbos.

Uses & Benefits

Ziziphus oxyphylla is used in traditional medicine for treating skin diseases, as a diuretic, and as an astringent. It is also used as a dye for fabrics, and its leaves are used as a fodder for livestock.
