Description
Ranunculus kymmenensis (also called Kymmene's Buttercup, among many other common names) is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe and Asia. It has a slender, erect stem and grows to a height of about 30 cm. The leaves are ovate-lanceolate, about 2-3 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, with serrated margins. It grows in moist meadows, pastures, and other wet areas.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flowers of Ranunculus kymmenensis are yellow-green in color and have five petals. The seeds are small, dark brown, and have a smooth, glossy surface. The seedlings are thin and have a single pair of leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Ranunculus kymmenensis can be propagated from seed or division. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. It can be grown in containers and will self-seed in favorable conditions.
